Endura Energy announced today that it has commenced construction of a 100 kW rooftop solar power system in Richmond Hill. The project is being developed in connection with the Ontario Power Authority’s Feed-in-Tariff (FIT) program, and once completed, will generate approximately 110,000 kWh of clean energy each year, equivalent to reducing approximately 85 tonnes of carbon emissions annually. “We are extremely excited to begin construction on one of the first commercial scale rooftop solar projects in the province,” said Adam Peaker, Vice President of Operations for Endura Energy. “This project is a milestone for both our company and the Ontario green energy movement. We look forward to building on this success with other building owners in the province.”

The rooftop system will be owned and maintained by Endura Energy and is being developed under a 20-year rooftop lease agreement with the owner of the building. Endura’s rooftop leasing program allows building owners to participate in the development of solar power with no upfront investment. “Endura’s rooftop lease program has allowed us to generate green power while earning additional income from our building,” said Shelling Yeh, owner of the property.
